Since its inception in 1996, FanTasia™ has been an event hell-bent on showcasing the most exciting and innovative of international genre cinema. FanTasia™ has become a hugely popular cinematographic event, with over 80 000 festival-goers yearly.
Screenings at FanTasia lead to huge successes. Our 1999 International Premiere of Hideo Nakata's RING (RINGU) led directly to the film being acquired by Dreamworks, both for their 2002 remake as well as North American distribution of Nakata's original instant-classic.
In 2006, to further promote its cinema, FanTasia™ will open its ‘Virtual Market’. It will showcase productions from all over the world seeking distributors and broadcasters (Terrestrial, Satellite, VOD and Phone). Browse through hundreds of movies by country of origin, producer, director, leading actor or distributor and by type of movie – Action, Comedy, Drama, Fantasy, Horror, Science Fiction…
